“Is that dust in mine eye?”
by Glenn Chittenden Jr. on Mar.05, 2008, under General
For a few weeks I’ve been seeing a dark spot in the corner of my eye. I finally went to the doctor and was told it’s an “attached floater”. There is nothing they can do about it and in most cases it doesn’t cause any harm, but it’s possible it could pull hard enough to cause a detached retina. The doctor told me if I start seeing flashes of light to get treatment right away because that’s an indication the retina is pulling away from the vitreous, which will cause loss of vision.
For the most part I guess there is nothing to worry about, it’s just annoying to see this “shadow” in my vision.
